Hi readers! Do you guys like my new website design? I love it! Hopefully, you guys will too.
I'm officially obsessed with animal prints. I'm not talking about leopard or zebra prints. I'm talking about the tiny, cute, animals prints (horses, birds, swans, etc.) repeatedly on tops, skirts, and dresses. In this post, I'm wearing the flamingo blouse from Barefoot Contessa (local boutique). Aren't they fun?
I'm not a big animal person, but I love looking at pretty animals. One of them are flamingos. I've gathered some interesting facts about flamingos.
Flamingos are among the world's most famous tall birds. You can easily recognize them since they're famous for standing on one leg (their most comfortable position). The pink feathers is caused by carotenoid pigments (the same thing that makes carrots orange) which is from their diet (shrimp and algae). Talk about you are what you eat. Lol. Flamingos are gregarious birds, that like to live in groups of varying sizes. You will never see them by themselves. A flock of flamingos is called a stand or flamboyance. Even though they are not consider endangered, they have suffered a lot in the past years. In some places, people killed them for their fat, which is believed to cure tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is a bacterial disease usually affecting the lungs. Yes, they do sleep on one leg! That's it. Have a great weekend!
